'Lighting Guy' Jimmy Floyd and Wonderman Waldo stand inside on the concourse of the Savannah Civic Center. The DWF logo is prominent behind them as they stand on either side of a tall table. Two glasses of water sit on the table.
Welcome to the Weekend Update with the Two Man Powertrip, I'm Jimmy Floyd and with me as always, the man, the myth, the legend in his own mind, Senior Referee Wonderman Waldo.
Waldo touches his finger to his forehead then does some silly motion as Jimmy looks on.
It's still not a thing, Waldo.
It's gonna be a thing, Jimmy. Just have to give it time.
It's gonna be a thing, Jimmy. Just have to give it time.
Waldo does the same motion again. Jimmy just simply looks at Waldo then back to the camera.
The Devil called, it's still not snowing. So enough of the impossible, let's get to the Two in Two with the TMP.
The camera switches to show Jimmy with pictures on either side of him.
The card for Shamrock Showdown has been set for a little more than 48 hours now. We have 8 competitors vying to be the Defiant Champion. First they have to get by their opponent, then they have to survive the Savannah River Street Fight, get to the River a mile from the Civic Center, and toss one of their opponents in to become the Champion.
The camera switches to show Waldo with the same pictures on either side of him.
You and I have seen these matches before. This is the first time there's been a qualifier to get into the match. So not only do you have to be ready for your opponent, then you have to get into the mindset of 3 more opponents, plus the mile, plus the crowd of the St. Patrick's day part-goers, then, OH YEAH, you have to throw someone into the water. So it's not just a match, it's not just endurance, and it's not just for the title, it's all that and more.
The camera switches back to a Jimmy and Waldo two-shot and Jimmy looks at Waldo with some admiration.
You actually put some thought into that answer, Waldo.
Actually I just stole the entire line from Chris Comet. That was his take on the match 12 years ago and he didn't win that night.
Jimmy just shakes his head in amazement.
I'll tell him that I took his comment IF we see him in Pensacola at TNT.
Waldo turns his head with a smile, shaking his head no. The camera switches to show him on the left and three pictures to the right.
That's not the only match going on at Shamrock Showdown. We also have the 3 way Elimination match. This match isn't just one of those 'get everyone on the card' type. It has implications as we head into the future with a Main Event Match at TNT- The Show, live from Pensacola on March 29th.
The camera switches to show Jimmy on the left and the same three pictures to the right.
Again, there's some strategy you have to have for this match. Not just one, but two others who want the opportunity at the winner's purse at the end of the night. It's a big payday for someone.
The camera switches back to a Jimmy and Waldo two-shot and Waldo points over to Jimmy.
With the pay structure in the DWF, the winner of this match has a shot to get 5K on top of their win, which will put them closer to either getting a night off or closer to a title match.
Speaking of Titles, there is talk that, at Pensacola, we'll find out more about this Titan Title that showed up on the Titles area on the website.
Does that mean we won't be seeing Perseus and Medusa at a Clash?
That... was weak.
At least I tried.
Jimmy turns his head towards the camera, shaking his head no. The camera switches to show him on the left and two pictures on either side of him.
And we have one more match that we know about at Shamrock Showdown, being the One Shot Match. This match takes places between two guests of the DWF and personally, I like this idea.
It's a unique concept, giving the fans a chance to see someone or a match they might never have seen, plus brings some eyes to the DWF and to the competitors as well.
The camera switches back to a Jimmy and Waldo two-shot and Jimmy nods towards Waldo.
If we could manage to keep them here, great, but still to see a dream match, in this case, the Dr. Pepper Kid and the Reina de M&M's, It's a definite W in the books for the Boss.
Worse case scenario- it's another match. Best case scenario- we get more people wanting to be in this match. Maybe at each PPV we could have it?
That's perfect. We'll sell it to Miss Rikar as a Two Man Powertrip idea!
Um, we can't really, we just told EVERYONE the plan.
They won't tell.
We do have one last match at Shamrock Showdown, but even we don't know who's in the match. It's a Legends Match between two of the past from the DWF. That opens up a lot of options.
Literally hundreds of options abound for this match. Could be some of the greats like Allister Crowley, Gaz Phoenix from Britain, Jackal, who's another Brit, Darkness, Clayman the Aussie?
What about Thunderball, the Canadian Powerhouse? Knuckles Dakota, Michael Daniels? Team SnP with Snooky, Gal-Gal and Primetime Phil?
Waldo does a double thumb pose as he says 'Primetime Phil'.
As long as it's not the Cult, I don't miss them at all.
I don't think anyone misses them.
And speaking of missing, we hope that we don't miss you next weekend for more from the Two Man Powertrip. So for the Wonderman...
Waldo touches his finger to his forehead then does the silly motion once more as Jimmy just shakes his head.
I'm the Lighting Guy, This has been the Weekend Update with the Two Man Powertrip and We are Outta here!
Jimmy and Waldo each grab their glasses from the table as the camera fades to black.
