Post by Arthur/Vail/McKay on Sept 12, 2017 0:22:06 GMT
The scene fades in as we see Arthur getting out of an older model Ford pick up truck in front of the Houston airport. A few other men get out of their doors. Arthur takes a deep breath and turns to face them smiling. Each man takes turns shaking his hand and a few even offer up a rare bro hug. Most of the men walk back to the truck and get in while one remains. He quickly sizes up Arthur before speaking up.
Man: We sure do appreciate everything you've done for us Mr. McKay, I know you gave up your debut and all in your wrastlin show to come down here and help.
Arthur shakes his head and smiles.
Arthur: It's the least I could do, I know a lot of people where affected by this, some of my own family included. The day I signed my contract the Defiant management told me to be Defiant, and I think everyone can say defying a hurricane is taking that to an extreme. I would love to stay and help but I have a new match that I have to get ready for, you're all welcome go check to show out though, I could use some fan support.
The man chuckles and nods his head.
Man: Of course son, we wouldn't miss it, if you give it as much effort as you did helping us out this past couple weeks you'll do just fine.
Arthur beams a little as the man offers his hand again and he takes it.
Arthur: Thanks Fred, I'll give it my all.
Fred takes another look at Arthur and nods his head satisfied with what he sees and turns and walks back to the truck and gets in, everyone in the truck hoots and hollers as they drive off and Arthur makes his way into the lobby of the airport. He takes a few steps into the room when he is suddenly rushed by Julie Crichton with a mic in hand.
Julie: Mr. McKay, Mr. McKay, I'm with Defiant can I have a quick word?
Arthur stops and puts his bags down on the floor and smiles as she gets up to him.
Arthur: Sure why not, gatta make it quick though, I have a plane to catch in the next two hours, and you know how boarding can be I'm sure. Anyway, what can I do for you?
She smiles and brings the mic up to her lips.
Julie: I just wanted to get a quick word about how you're feeling heading into your debut match.
Arthur brings a hand up to his mouth and strokes his beard thinking for a moment and then looks back over at her with a smile as she brings the mic over to face him.
Arthur: That's a great question but before I answer that I'd like to address something real quick. Last week I was supposed to take park in a triple threat match against West McFadden and K-Remix, and as everyone seen I had to bail out at the last minute, there was way too much going on down here for me to be able to sit by and not come and help, but I want to give mad props to both West and K-Remix, they put on a hell of a match, and got the crowd going, it's no wonder they are both in matches for potential Defiant title shot. Anyway great job you guys, I'll be looking forward to mixing it up with you sometime in the near future.
He pauses for a moment and then gets back to the previous question.
Arthur: But back to what you asked. I have a second chance at making a first impression for everyone on September 14th in Pittsburgh and I plan on making it one no one will soon forget. I have trained for the better part of two years and I can't wait for the world to see what I can do inside that squared circle. As far as how I feel, I have a lot of nervous energy building up in me that I can't wait to unleash.
She brings the mic back to her lips.
Julie: So you're ok with facing Quinn Rivers for your first match in Defiant?
He shakes his head and snickers a bit.
Arthur: Listen, I'm sure Quinn is a capable wrestler, and I'm not going to belittle her just because shes a women. A lot of my trainers where women and they could work circles around most of the men who where in my class. So that's a none issue, what is an issue though is the fact that she's injured, I don't want any doubt in anyone's mind that the right person won the match when all is said and done. I have no doubt in my mind she's going to give it her all as will I.
She eyes Arthur for a moment and decides to let it go in favor of asking another question.
Julie: So do you think Vail will make an appearance?
Suddenly Arthur's smile vanishes and he picks up his bags.
Arthur: For Quinn and everyone else I sure as hell hope I can keep him in control. Most people have demons they can conquer, I don't get that luxury. Every time Vail gets free bad things happen.
He drops his bags again and unbuttons his shirt and then lets it drop, As the camera zooms in scars can see over almost 90 percent of his top half.
Arthur: Vail's not a tag team partner, he's my number one enemy, and for everyone's sake I have to keep him in control. Now if you'll excuse me.
He grabs his shirt and puts it back on and buttons it back up before picking up his bags and walking towards the boarding area of the airport. He hands them his ticket and heads down the hall as the camera zooms up on the board with the word Pittsburgh PA on it before fading out to dark.

Post by Coral Rose/ Quinn Rivers on Sept 12, 2017 6:01:06 GMT
The scene opens up inside of Quinn Rivers apartment. She is on her couch with her knee elevated, with an ice pack on it. She had been pushing herself for her upcoming match, so it was bothering her a bit, but she was making sure to take it easy for the next few days. She knew her first match in Defiant didn’t go that well, but she was ready to make sure this next one went her way, and went well. She was facing some new guy named Arthur McKay, who seemed to be mentally unstable is best way of putting it. Quinn was thinking about the match, as she wanted to make sure she was ready, and knew she would need to talk about the match. What better time to do it, than now.
“You know it’s hard going up against someone who seems all nice to a point, yet has an evil lurking inside of him. You never know what to expect, which one you will be getting. You could be getting the good, or the evil. Honestly, do you think I care? No I don’t. What I care about is actually showing up, doing the job, and you know actually showing I want to be here. Before anyone thinks, no this is not a shot at Arthur for missing his first match. Far from it. Even though…. How do we really know Arthur was helping out in Texas? We really don’t know, seeing as he does have that evil side to him…..Oops… did I just say that….”
She lightly laughs, as she puts an innocent look on her face.
”I sure did. Awww is that going to make Vail come out, and play? You really think I am scared, or nervous about him coming out? Truthfully I have faced girls who are more of a threat, and something to be nervous about, compared to Vail. Come on, it is just a dude who uses some excuse to be able get away with what he wants to do in the match, and had some quack fake his diagnoses. Go on, act like I am just so bad for doubting him, but you never know with some of these people.”
She shrugs her shoulders, as she was lightly laughing. She was actually enjoying what she was saying. She glances off camera, as she smiles lightly.
”For real though… all jokes aside. I could care less if he is for real, or fake. It all doesn’t make a difference, or matters. No what matters is once I get in that ring with him, he will be seeing why my second chance will work for me, and his will just fail. Truthfully, he can think he will come out on top, can let Vail come out, it won’t make a difference. Vail shows up, I will finally get to show why I was once known as Mayhem, known for my Mayhem. This is my second chance to show it, and I will not fail doing it, like I did before. I may have my knee bothering me, but you know what, it will be better, and ready to go come the 14th. I will do everything in my power, to make sure it gets feeling better, that I will be there, and will beat you Arthur, or Vail, whichever bullshit person you want to be in the match. They are going to realize they fucked up by putting you against me. They will not be seeing the same female I was in my first match.”
She was still glancing off at something, or something off camera, as she was smiling.
”You see I have learned to fight for what I want, to keep what I want, to fight for what I love. Honestly, I love wrestling, and truthfully, I love winning. I have only two losses in my career. I do not plan on having anymore. See Arthur, I have my Father’s memory, and unlike my past, I do have someone now that helps drive me to win, and to do my best. With them backing me, I know I can do this, and show I am one not to be taken lightly. All of that will help me as I enter the ring on the 14th, face you, and come out as the winner. Neither one of your “forms” could say, will be able to stop me. I will move past you, and right on up the ladder.”
She thinks for a few minutes.
”Truthfully, I did learn to not overlook who you are facing, but you know what, I have thrown a lot of that out the window, because it wasn’t worth keeping. I can admit it, and you know what, I am glad I did. I know I am confident enough to win, confident enough to say that Arthur is no match for me. I sat on the sidelines for too long Arthur to let you come in as some hero for what you just done, and beat me. Go ahead, be a hero all you want, it will not make a difference inside of that ring. Your years of training will not make a difference. When it comes down to it Arthur, or Vail, whichever one you want to be, you have no chance in beating me period.”
She looks at the camera, as she smirks.
”Really Arthur, I only got one thing to say, I used to say it before, and only fitting to say it now. I hope you are ready for some Mayhem.”
She keeps smirking as she says it. The camera soon switches off, as Quinn looks off towards the other person that was in the room with her.
”That good enough?”
”It was Quinny.”
She was glad the person had said that, it still unknown who it was though, as she was smiling now. Having the person's support meant a lot to her, more than anyone would know. The scene fades out on her smiling.
